about

Welcome to the NEW and IMPROVED "ADC PHOTOGRAPHY BLOG!" I am so lucky to share in many special moments of my clients' lives that I consider my career as a professional portrait and wedding photographer so much more than a "job". I hope to share some of my work and experiences with you to give you a little glimpse of myself beyond what you see on the website. Of course, you can still view my website at ADC Photography to find out even more about me and my photography. Feel free to comment on anything you see as I LOVE to read your feedback! Thank you for checking out The ADC Studio Blog. Here you will see some of my work from recent sessions.

I LOVE THESE BOYS!!!  These kids are so ridiculously adorable that I don’t know how their mom can stand it.  She actually can’t stand it.  She spends her whole time in the studio doting over them, telling them how much she loves them and hugging them.  They have the cutest cheeks and most beautiful liquid eyes and pouty  lips!!  So beautiful.

I’ve been photographing them since the oldest was in mommy’s tummy and she was just as beautiful as her boys.  She’s the gorgeous blond with her hair blowing and a black see through lace top just barely covering her belly you see gracing my website.  Yeah, that’s her!

I hope to photograph these cuties for years to come to see just how handsome they turn out to be.

  • Oh my goodness, how adorable!! Beautiful photography as always. Love the black and white of the two of them together!!

I don’t normally share personal stuff but I needed to share this for business and personal reasons.

My father has been sick for a VERY long time.  He’s been waiting for a kidney transplant for 5 years now.  Those who know me personally, know that my dad is a very young 56 years old.  So it’s tough to see him this way.  Well he finally got his kidney.  We had almost lost hope.  But he did finally get it, surgery went well, and he just went home today.

I’ve been at the hospital EVERY DAY helping him out and learning all about his meds and his appointments and such.  So work has had to take a back seat.  So if your photos are late, or if you’re waiting on anything from me…PLEASE just bare with me.  I will get it to you as soon as possible.  But family just has to come first right now.  I do understand that business is business but I do have to take care of those who have taken care of me and I hope you all can understand that.  And I thank you all so much for your well wishes!!!

On another note (and I hate to get on my soapbox here), but I hope everyone realizes just how important it is to be an organ donor!!  I tried to give my dad a kidney but was told 2 weeks before surgery that I couldn’t.  Had this person who passed not been a donor, my dad would STILL be waiting.  All those years of dialysis has taken a toll on his otherwise healthy heart so he may now need a pace maker.  So when you renew your license, I hope you think twice about checking off the ORGAN DONOR section.  It could be your parent, child or loved one who needs that liver, heart, kidney, etc.  It’s so important!!!!

Thanks again for your understanding, patience and well wishes.

I LOVE photographing newborns so it’s double the fun when I get two of them at the same time in the studio!!! It can be difficult to get them to sleep at the same time and it takes a whole lot of work to get those nice peaceful photos…but when it happens, it’s just magic. These two cuties unfortunately moved away but I got to photograph them just before they did and it is now one of my all time favorite sessions.

But these cute little sessions are not without their mishaps.  And here’s my cute little story about this one.

We tend to keep their diapers off for a while.  Much as I try to remember to put their diaper on loosely while we’re not shooting, I tend to forget.  So I’m putting one of the babies to sleep (can’t remember which one) and the baby peed on me…strategically, I think, right in the crotch of my jeans.  Wait, it gets better.  Immediately after this session I had to take my son to the orthodontist.  So I went, looking like I had peed myself.  Gives new meaning to doing whatever it takes to get the shot.

  • So incredibly sweet!! Love the softness of your lighting and the variety of the bright colors with the chair. Love your work…

This was such an awesome wedding!!  First of all, both families are incredibly fun.  And the guests were so great and so ready to party that the MC had a hard time getting people to sit down to the do introductions!!  People walked in and started dancing right away.  My kind of wedding.

This wedding was particularly cool because the bride and groom have known each other since they were kids.  They lived right by one another (in my development no less).  So their families know one another well.  I just thought it was a really cool story.  And this couple couldn’t be cuter.

Thanks guys for letting me be part of your day!

  • Your work is just amazing!!! Love how you capture the essence of the day. What a gorgeous couple, stunning dress!! Beautiful, beautiful work…

  • Janice,

I am sitting at work watching over and over, calling everyone to tell them to watch over and over. Your preview brought tears to my eyes. The whole time watching I kept saying to myself, “This is why we hired her” You are awesome and your work is flawless. I thought our family might have tramatized you. lol Can’t wait to see every picture you captured and in the way that you captured it. You are truly amazing!!!!!

  • Janice,

This is the third time, I am writing too much, you are amazing and this preview is exactly why we hired you, and I thought we tramatized you!

  • I’m so glad you like the preview Maria. Not traumatized at all. You guys were great!

I have been around photographers from New York to California, from fashion to food. Your preview is on the highest level. It is hard to find a photographer to catch the exact moment in time, which you have mastered. Thank you for your patience. Fred…..

  • You’re too nice!! I’m so glad you are all happy with the photos. You were all so much fun to work with!!

  • Janice – Phenomenal!!! Your work is stunning. Now I’m addicted to the slideshow!!! Can’t wait to see more.

I’m so excited to share this news.  First I was selected by DWF (Digital Wedding Forum)

to be one of their Portrait Experts.  I was so honored!!!  Up there in the ranks with some

AMAZING photographers.  So I’m thrilled.  They did a feature on us in the newsletter.   Here’s the link:

I’ve really been slacking on posting to the blog.  So now that I’m COMPLETELY snowed in,

I thought it would be a good time to try and get caught up.

Meet Anthony.  He’s about to turn one!

We did mom’s maternity session and Anthony’s newborn session which I LOVED!

I’ve used those photos in lots of marketing.

All too fast the little guy is celebrating his first birthday so mom took advantage

of our Birthday Special.

This is my FAVORITE and a new technique I’ve been playing with.

  • These are just so yummy! Loving your new treatment to the fist image. Wonderful work as always.

I had to call this one “Angry Baby” because I’ve never seen a baby look so angry before!

Little Liam is soooo adorable. He has such a wrinkled little brow that he just looks mad!

Or maybe he just didn’t like all the props I was putting him in or on.

I had a great time photographing him and his proud parents.

This family was so much fun to photograph!  We did a lifestyle session in their home in Pennsylvania.  I don’t get to do these types of sessions very often so I was loving it!

Kristen and Brian had their wedding at the Phoenixville Foundry in Phoenixville, Pa.  We did their wedding formal photographs at Valley Forge National Park.

  • Brian and I have only seen these highlights of our wedding day here and are sitting on the edge of our seats wanting more! After researching and meeting with several photographers I was delighted when I met Janice for the first time. I knew when looking at her website that Janice saw the importance of attention to detail on her website alone, as being equivalent to the attention to detail on her resume. Her website is her resume. Her style and artistry in her photographs was evident immediately when searching the internet and stumbling upon her site. It was only confirmed when walking into her studio and seeing more of her work. It was very important to me to have a photographer who would give their time and attention to detail and Janice showed us just that.

Janice was so very easy to work with. When we met for the engagement session it seemed like we all could have been friends for years. I truly valued her opinions along the way, and her honesty with us, on the importance of getting the pictures we truly wanted for our day. Initially, Janice said to us that she liked to capture the moments from a distance, and wanted it to seem like she wasn’t even there. She lived up to what she said! Her and her sister were simply amazing. They were with us from sun-up till sun down and didn’t seem to miss anything. We got compliments that day how great our photographers were. And just think…I haven’t even seen our final photos yet!
